Despite the changing market circumstances, residents of many US states still prefer to move to the sunny Florida, as evidenced by the recently published statistics from JK Moving Services, the country’s largest independent provider of loading, transportation, and storage services. In 2022, the most popular destinations for relocation were Florida and North Carolina, especially among residents of Virginia and Maryland.
This matches the data from the fresh report by the National Association of Realtors, which says that southbound migration is still the strongest trend. The Florida real estate market is therefore forecast to reach a record-breaking performance in 2023.
Data on several dozens of moves by JK Moving Services demonstrated a few other interesting features:
- California residents were the most interested in moving to the US south, particularly to Florida. Most of them, however, eventually chose Texas
- People leaving Florida usually moved to Washington
- California, Texas, Florida, and New York turned out to have the greatest number of people willing to leave, while these are also the states with the largest populations
- Despite a slump in residential property sales in the second half of 2022, people are still moving around actively, which suggests that this market is likely to recover in the nearest future
