Projects of the week: best South Florida projects at the construction stage

The real estate industry of South Florida is booming, so new projects attracting investors and end users are regularly launched here. The following events in the local market made the hottest news last week.

Dependable Equities is planning to build the tallest tower in Fort Lauderdale

Dependable Equities presented the plans of building the tallest tower in Fort Lauderdale via its subsidiary, South of River Association. The developer intends to demolish the office building at the 1.7-acre land plot at 633 S.E. Third Ave, replacing it with a 47-story 161.5-meter tower. It will offer 830 apartments, 1,180 m2 of commercial spaces, and 951 parking spaces.

The mixed-use project will feature several garden terraces gradually narrowing towards the top. Amenities presented in the design include a site by the swimming pool, a lounge area, a yoga studio, a gym, a playroom, a spa, a library, a co-working space, and a chef’s kitchen.

SHVO is planning to build an office building in Miami Beach

New York-based SHVO applied for a construction permit for the second office building in Miami Beach. The developer is going to demolish the commercial complex at the 1,140 m2 land plot. The total floor area of the new six-story building will reach 6,390 m2, including 1,990 m2 of office spaces on the first five floors, a 101 m2 coffeehouse on the ground floor, 58 parking spaces, and a 506 m2 rooftop recreation area.

Construction of a mixed-use project is planned in Hialeah

A land plot near Hialeah Transfer Tri-Rail/Metrorail station could be repurposed for a mixed-use project. 1140 East Owner LLC from Miami wants to re-zone the 0.8-acre land plot at 1140 E. 25th Street to build an eight-story mixed-use complex with 138 apartments, 645 m2 of retail space, and 153 parking spaces. This site currently houses an automotive plant to be demolished.

Rollins Inc. is planning to build a residential project in Miami

Rollins Inc. managed by Gary W. Rollins from Atlanta submitted a request for building a new residential project in Allapattah, a neighborhood in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Upon construction completion, the 20-story building will feature 309 apartments. The request says that the project is aimed at providing affordable homes.

Hampton Inn in Homestead may expand

Prime Hotel Group, part of Hollywood-based Prime Group, wants to expand Hampton Inn in Homestead. The five-story building currently has 126 rooms. The new project involves building a new seven-story wing with 98 rooms.
